The X-ray night sights are the best sights I've ever had on a pistol, and while I imagine I would also love the Trijicon HD night sights, I've personally never used those. Some of my favorite things on this Sig P226 Legion are the X-Ray Night Sights, the Grey Guns Trigger, the G10 grips and by extension the ergonomics and comfort, and the accuracy I get out of it. Sooooooo back to Sig it went to get a new rear night sight installed.Īll that said, since then everything has been smooth sailing. It turned out, and I didn't notice until after I brought it home, that one of the dots on the rear sight didn't illuminate in the dark. But I didn't know if I'd trust this particular example, so in the end I decided to let it go.Ī few months later I got a new P226 Legion, the one I currently have. I would always wonder in the back of my mind, will this gun fail on me? I knew it wasn't some sort of systemic problem with the P226 platform. I had dry fired the gun several times prior to this without incident, I can't explain what happened.Īfterwards it just didn't sit right with me. After dropping the magazine and racking the slide a few times, the trigger reset and there was no other problems for 199 more rounds. The trigger was locked back in the rear most position and the gun was dead in the water. On the very first round I pulled the trigger and the gun fired, it ejected the spent case and chambered a new round, however the trigger didn't reset. My first one, the same exact model, had a troubling failure when I shot it the first time. But I digress, for me so far this Legion wins, at least in the 9mm category.Īll that said the P226 Legion wasn't without a few issues, and I'll outline those bumps in the road first. I also have a great deal of fondness for my S&W Model 27. 45 that competes for my admiration with the Legion in every way. None of those other 9mm had catastrophic problems but for one reason or another they did not meet and exceed all of my expectations.ĩmm's of course aren't the only handguns I own. In each and every case I have found fault with and subsequently sold every other 9mm I've owned over the years. I can honestly say that this firearm has exceeded all of my expectations and it has become my favorite 9mm handgun.įavorite 9mm handgun compared to what you might ask? Well in the past at one time or another I've owned several 9mm handguns, that include: 2016, I have officially fired 1000 rounds through my Sig P226 Legion SA/DA 9mm. As of yesterday, spanning 8 different range visits since initial purchase in Feb.
